MSI Prestige 16 AI Laptop- Its a Hot Mess: This MSI Prestige 16 AI laptop new Arrow Lake CPU specifically the H series of arrow lake CPU. Their most powerful one the Intel Core Ultra 9 285H CPU. This it series CPU will kind of be split up between thin and light notebook but also some gaming laptops as well.
Performance:
there’s a lot of things that are better, the MacBook Air 15 they definitely beat put AMD HX CPU but as soom you hit.
Multi Core:
the muilt core speed it does come out on top and it’s very comparable to the 370Hx or even the 360Hx that AMD currently offers but again these are just sort of regular everyday.
Benchmark:
this can process mozilla firefox quite quickly. If you’re buying this for creative work it’s fantastic for photoshop. It gets really good scores it almost ties the MacBook Air15. which really surprise beacuase usually that’s lower on other products Intel has done. a pretty good job of improvement the encoders and decoders inside of here which makes a big difference for video creation. this thing to edit video all day long at least 4k video it will feel quite slow.
Adobe Premiere Pro:
It improved quite a bit but I decided to render something very difficult the MacBook Air, it the fastest in 27 minutes. This did it in around 43 minutes and Zenbook S16 which has 370HX CPU did it a little slower.
Problem:
The problem with Arrow lake it’s a big problem and I don’t know if it’s just specific to this laptop but it has me concerned for future versions. This MSI Prestige is a hot mess.
Keyboard:
The keyboard was so hot when I was playing Marvel rivals that it reached 63° C.
AVG Core Clock speed
The average core clock speed they definitely beat out the Asus Zenbook S16 but for a reason this is running at 55W which is high and the Zenbook is only running at 30W which is a lot lower. It I have to spend that much more power to get very similar performance you know you’re going to be introducing lot of heat.
AVG CPU Temps
The CPU temps on this sky were almost 100°C while the Zenbook S16 with it’s AMD CPU you sat in the lower 80s. this Arrow Lake H processor is just not meant for a laptop like this it’s meant to be in thicker chassis with better cooling. This in not competing with what AMD is offering right now infact if you’re looking at a thin and light notebook.
Battery life
Lunar lake processor like it’s not fast as AMD stuff it beats out most of the snapdragon stuff beacuase it’s just more compatible with apps. the benefit of lunar lake is you just get really good bettery life.
